SIGN

Purpose

SIGN returns -1 if n<0, then . If n=0, then the function returns 0. If n>0, then SIGN returns 1.

Examples

The following example indicates that the function's argument (-15) is <0:

SELECT SIGN(-15) "Sign" FROM DUAL;

      Sign
----------
        -1
